Together, Darcia DeSalvo and Diane Melancon have a combined 50 years of family counseling and marriage counseling experience. Teen counseling is an important part of our practice. As clinical directors of one of Colorado’s premier agencies serving at risk youth, we have helped hundreds of families get back on track after experiencing the crisis of seriously out of control behaviors. we bring those skills and experienced to Embark Counseling hoping we can help you, your marriage and your family.
We find that while parents and couples work hard and are doing the best they can, sometimes challenges arise. We want to support parents, teens, children and couples at those moments. Whether it’s building new skills, improving communication or helping families to juggle multiple demands, everyone needs a little help now and again. We are passionate about children having the indispensable gifts of family. And we want to help parents gain real satisfaction from their most important job and couples gain satisfaction from their relationship.
We believe therapy should be targeted with measurable goals. We believe we are in partnership with our clients to meet those goals. We believe therapy should have a beginning, a middle and an end. Embark with us as you learn to have the family relationships you wish to experience.

After teaching preschool and kindergarten for 16 years, I became increasingly interested in other ways I could be helpful to families. I got my Master’s degree in Psychology and worked as an independent parent educator and therapist. Later I became a clinical director at Savio House,a large agency serving at-risk adolescents and their families on the Front Range.
I am trained in Multi-Systemic Therapy, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other evidence-based models. I am grateful that I have had the opportunity to work with children of all ages from infants to teens, and their parents, as well as couples working hard to get the most from their relationships. My husband and I are the parents of three adult children.

At a young age I knew I wanted to help people. After working in domestic violence shelters and the prison system I realized I wanted to work with youth and families. I received my Master's degree in marriage and family therapy and am currently a licensed professional counselor in Colorado. I am a juvenile full operating level provider for the SOMB.
I have worked with at-risk adolescents and their families for over 20 years. I have been a clinical director at Savio House, a large agency in Colorado serving high-risk adolescents and their families on the Front Range.
I am trained in Multi-Systemic Therapy, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). As a married mother of two children, I believe I bring real-life experience mixed with counseling training to help support you in each and every session.
